Weekly breakdown
Session 1
B9 — Short-Form Video Creation With AI
- ●Students build concept, audience, hook, script, scene breakdown and shot list with Claude; ChatGPT challenges the concept and pressure-tests the hook; students then translate the brief into real shots and scenes in Gemini + Google Flow, learning to specify subject, action, environment, camera, lighting and mood for every shot.
- ●You walk away with: A 10-Piece AI Video Portfolio: 3×15-second, 3×30-second, 2×60-second, 1 educational and 1 commercial video, built around the Hook → Interest → Value → Payoff → Action structure.
Session 2
B10 — AI Video Prompting & Visual Direction
- ●Students build the Nyande Visual Direction Framework for a real shot — specifying subject, character, action, environment, time, camera, composition, lighting, movement, mood, cultural context, continuity, audio intent and output purpose.
- ●You walk away with: A complete Visual Direction Brief used to generate a real, intentional shot.
Session 3
B11 — From Script To Screen
- ●Students run the complete pipeline: idea → creative brief → script → scenes → shots → visual references → video generation → selection → editing → sound → captions → quality control → export.
- ●You walk away with: A finished 60-second story about an everyday African experience.
Session 4
B12 — Character Consistency
- ●Students build a Character Bible (name, age range, physical description, wardrobe, personality, voice, movement, reference appearance, restrictions) and practise placing the same fictional character across different locations, times of day and camera positions.
- ●You walk away with: A Consistent Character Sequence across at least six different settings.
Session 5
B13 — African Environment Direction
- ●Students specify country, city, area type, architecture, vehicles, clothing, weather and commercial activity for real locations, and learn to visually distinguish Accra from Kumasi, Tamale, Lagos, Nairobi, Johannesburg and Dakar.
- ●You walk away with: An African Environment Visual Library covering at least three distinct cities.
Session 6
B14 — AI Product Video
- ●Students run real product research through to a call to action: customer, selling point, campaign idea, script, product shots, lifestyle shots.
- ●You walk away with: A 30-second product commercial for a real product category.
Session 7
B15 — Real Business Video Challenge
- ●Each student partners with a real SME — restaurant, salon, fashion designer, school, shop or similar — researches its audience, writes a creative brief and produces a full deliverable set for it.
- ●You walk away with: A Real SME AI Campaign: 30-second ad, 15-second cutdown, social version, WhatsApp version and still promotional assets.
Practical exercises
- → Capstone: Real SME AI Campaign — Building on B15, every Beginner graduate delivers a complete, real advertising campaign for an actual small business — research, brief, video assets and still assets — proving they can take an idea from a real client to a finished, usable campaign.
